A bloodbath averted; three LTTE terrorists arrested with deadly weapons - Colombo

Three LTTE terrorists have been arrested in the Colombo suburbs during a sting operation carried out by the Security Forces since Monday (5th of February).

According to the defence sources, the three terrorists are ethnic Sinhalese who have involved in and abetted many terrorist attacks at the innocent civilians in the South. The three suspects, all males are said to have received large sum of money from the LTTE for their service.

The anti-terror unit of the security forces made this arrest on reliable information received by a civilian source. The terrorists have already confessed that they had undergone military training at several occasions under the LTTE leader Kapila Amman at LTTE training bases in Kilinochchi.

As laid bare by the suspects the troops have also found a cache of deadly weapons hidden at several locations in Colombo. The list of items, so far recovered by the troops is as follows:

ITEM

QUANTITY

High Explosives (C-4)

6 Kg

Sub Machine Guns (T-56)

4

Ammunitions (T-56)

449

Micro Pistols

2

Ammo Micro Pistol

49

Claymore Mines ( 1 kg)

2

Ammo Pistol (9mm)

50

Electronic Detonators

60

Meanwhile, the defence sources said that the suspect had declared vital information on past and future attacks of the LTTE. However, the officials refused to make further comments on the arrest since the investigations are still continuing.

Ironically, the arrest has reportedly caused a great havoc among those pro terror media hooligans and other anti Sri Lankan movements that depend on LTTE blood cash. Having feared that their dubious lives might be exhumed soon, these terror proxies observed to have come up with aimless protest campaigns, issuance of statements and with their usual media propaganda missions to tarnish the good image of the government.

The defence officials express their earnest gratitude to those vigilant civilians who provided the vital information on the terrorists, as their noble deed has saved hundreds of innocent lives that would have ended up in another bloodbath.
